Dr. Rothbauer is a really good vet. He is available day or night when he is on call. He is very thorough in his exams, he doesn't just assume that the symptoms mean a certain condition. He runs blood tests to make sure that the symptoms and his diagnois agree. One night our dog was having a seizure that would not stop, so he told us he would meet us at the clinic and check her out. We were there for two hours till he was sure the seizure was over. She was given a shot of medication to bring the seizure under control. He made farm calls while we were there but he came back five or six times to check on her before he released her. We were able to sit with her so she had someone with her the whole time and were told how to get ahold of him on his radio should we need to. Another time he saved the life of our little Patrick James. He was two and a half months old when he developed water belly. He came out to our home late in the evening and examined he and took him back to the office where he did emergency surgery on our little guy. It was touch and go for a while but after several surgeries over 3 months we had healthy little boy who lived to be into his teens.
