Dermatologist to AVOID -Dr. Traywick-May River Dermatology -Overpriced! Lack of Patient Concern
One would think that a visit to a dermatologist would include an examination of the body to check for any possible pre-cancerous, or cancerous lesions. My $364.00 office charge was simply, the doctor asking me if there were any areas of concern, and treating the two spots on my face that I identified. How about checking my back -behind my legs, places where I cannot check? That's why I've come for an exam!! When I asked about the charges, I was told "you don't pay that amount the insurance company pays it." In other words, we inflate prices, because the patient doesn't pay, adding "think about what you pay for a hair cut!" The office manager slammed the phone down ,when I questioned the charges by saying the "insurance company sets these prices!" Nothing worse than begin lied to, overcharged, and getting poor unpressional service. A medical practice such as this is an example of why healthcare is screwed up. Doctors like Traywick charge outlandish prices, assuming the insurance company will pay, and the patient will be happy to pay the other amount. The $95.00 which was my portion should have been the amount I would pay without insurance. Sometimes you just get tired of being taken advantage of!!
