Hill Country was recommended to me by the optometrist who'd been prescribing glasses to me for 25 years. I can recommend both Drs. Restivo and Cottle. After cataract surgery by Dr. Restivo he sent me to Dr. Cottle for corneal work. Both Drs are courteous, professional and concerned. The front office staff is prompt and very helpful while Jodi and Mindy make me feel comfortable and relaxed while doing the prep work for the doctors. I highly recommend this office.

Dr. Restivo was recommended to me by someone who had actually worked for an eye doctor in Austin. And now after having cataract surgery a few years ago, I've recommended Dr. Restivo to my friends many times. I've never had to wait for an appointment and this guy knows his stuff.

Comfort, care, and concern....that is what I received when I had to make an urgent appointment. When you are in pain you just want someone to make it go away. Dr. Cottle was kind and caring as she listened to all the steps and medications that had been prescribed to alleviate my eye pain. She helped me undestand what was going on with my eye, modified my existing treatment plan and made me feel relieved and welcome to call her if I had trouble over the weekend. The only thing I would change is perhaps a different form to fill out if someone is there on an 'emergency' visit and not a regularly scheduled first patient visit. Or at least a section on the form that indicates that it is not a normal first visit and a question about "why" you are there. But, that observation may also be skewed due to the amount of pain I was in while I went through all of the questions. My overall experience was very good, from the phone call, to directions to the office, wait time, and care from staff while I was there.

Reviewing all visits is an easy task. Going to any doctor always brings on stress. At Hill Country that is not the case. The entire staff makes me feel like one of the family, and my Dr. Restivo and Mindy are from 1 to 10, they are about a 15. I hope that doesn't cause a problem for the star rating, just add a couple more stars. LOL. Sincerely I highly recommend Dr Restivo and company. Theresa

I have had many blessings in my life-the most recent Dr Gina Cottle! (at the Hill Country Eye Center). My family physician recommend Dr. Cottle for an eye exam, as I am 75, and a diabetic, he was concerned if there could be any problems connected with my eyes as a result of the diabetes. Within five minutes of my arrival I was very courteously seated in the examination room. Dr. Cottle found cataracts on both eyes. I was SHOCKED!!! I thought because of my age I was just loosing my sight (much like my teeth, joints, bones, hearing and memory). Not the case Dr. Cottle told me, you just need some new lens implants. The thought of my eyeball having surgery scared me to a maximum level. She explained to me it would take all of 12 to 15 minutes. On 9-12-2011 Dr. Cottle removed the big cataract on my left eye at the Hill Country Surgery Center. What an expert at her profession she is. No pain , I could see so clearly before I got off the operating table!(in my left eye). I went across the street to IHOP and had a man-sized breakfast. I read the menu for the first time (without glasses) in 15 years. My second surgery was this week on 11-7-2011. On the right eye! NO PAIN!!! I have not even needed a baby aspirin after either surgery. Dr. Cottle is so caring and loves her work as a an eye surgeon. I cannot praise Dr. Gina Cottle enough there are just not enough meaningful words to describe her. She restored on of my most precious organs "my eyes". I have now donated my eye glasses as I dont need them anymore. This is the one and only place to go--all staff at both facilities are better than great !!! They are Excellent!!! If anyone is looking for excellent eye care and or eye surgery I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Gina Cottle @Hill Country Eye Center

I can SEE!!!! Dr. Restivo performed LASIK surgery on me last week. The procedure went GREAT!! I had 20/20 vision the very next day. It is sooo unbelievable to wake up in the morning and not have to fumble for my glasses to get to my contacts. I wore contacts for 20 years... Dr. Restivo and his staff are excellent!!!! This was my third visit to Dr. Restivo's office - each and every time it is so awesome that everyone is so friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about what they are doing. It is actually a joy to have your eyes examined!! Everyone takes time to explain what they are doing, your options and the results. I love the time with them!!! Pam Hold

Dr. Restivo was recommended to me for cataract surgery. It is one of the best recommendations I have ever gotten. The pre-op exam was very thorough and everyone was willing to answer all of my many questions and explain the tests they were performing Dr. Restivo explained in detail the condition of my eyes and what to expect during surgery and post-op. Post-op I had mild discomort (scratchy sensation) in the right eye and nothing in the left eye. He always takes time to explain your eye condition and answer your questions at each post-op visit. In my book, he and all of his staff are "the best".

I love Dr Restivo and his staff. Because of the number of surgeries I have had on my eye, my situation was a little complicated. When I had issues, I received a call from them on a SUNDAY! The staff is friendly and professional. Everything has always been explained to me in a way that is informative, on my level and in a fashion that made me comfortable with the procedures. Things are going as well as we had hoped! How lucky for me!

I sought a few opinions before undergoing cataract surgery. Most people complained about a painful procedure or lengthy recuperative time. My experience was very different. Dr. Gina Cottle performed the surgery on my left eye and it was totally 'pain free' and very fast. As I was being wheeled out of the operating room, I was able to see clearly. It was truly amazing! Within a short period of time I was able to have the surgery on my right eye. Again the same - pain free and clear vision. Cataract surgery has really improved over the years and Dr. Cottle and her staff made it a wonderful experience for me.

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. My husband went for a new patient consult and exam because he is very interested in corrective surgery. His appointment was at 10:30am and he arrived just after 10am. He waited in the waiting room until 11:15am and finally walked out. The receptionist didn't say a thing about them running behind until he got up to leave. She then asked if he wanted to reschedule. Yeah, right! They clearly have no respect for their patient's time. You would think that they would offer the best customer service to their new patients so I can only imagine how they treat the returning patients. I had planned to make an appointment after my husband went but we will both be finding another practice.

I was originally refered to Hill Country Eye Center by a friend who had the bladeless corrective surgery the month before. He praised the whole process and was able to see perfect after it. I have always been extremely scared of going through with corrective eye surgery or even going to the eye doctor. However Dr. Restivo and his staff made thr whole process painless. Dr Restivo assured me he had had patients much more scared than I was and gave a few examples. His office is easily located North Parmer and he performs the surgeries close to Mopac and 2222. I know this sounds like what everyone else says, but I should have gone through with this process years ago. It was a but creepy at times, but painless and I have vision better than 20/20 now.

The doctor I have been dealing with at the center is wonderful (Dr. Restivo). He is so thorough and cares about his patients as if they were a personal friend. He makes you feel at ease and comfortable during each and every visit. His staff is also great! I go back to his office this A.M. for another check of my left eye since the surgery. I have some concerns and I am hoping he can shed some light I the situation.

I have been dealing intensively with the incredible doctors and staff at Hill Country Eye Center since I was not able to renew my driver's license because I could not pass the vision test. My vision has been a challenge since the 4th grade. RK surgery in 1980 enabled me to see for a long time but the side effects of that finally caught up with me. I started with Dr. Restivo who removed the cataract in my left eye, followed by in-office laser surgery to clear the sack behind the lens. Dr. Cottle followed these procedures with sand-blasting (my term not hers) of the cornea to remove the scar tissue from the 16 RK slashes. Throughout this experience, I have yet to encounter anyone at this facility who did not go above and beyond the call uf duty. This includes the hugs from Doctors and Staff - something this old lady needs to keep her batteries charged. I have never been rushed here and the only questions not answered are the ones not asked. This is the greatest group of professionals that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Sincerest thanks to each and every one of you.

I had an appointment with Dr. Cottle to schedule my cataract surgery and she was very patient and kind in explaining the procedure and what to expect from the surgery. She did not rush and answered all my questions thoroughly. Mallory was excellent at the front desk in helping retrieve my records from other physicians and giving me phone numbers and information to call about the procedure. Bev helped tremendously by figuring out what my insurance would pay and what was required out of pocket. All three of these individuals were thorough, pleasant, professional and very helpful and I would recommend the care of Hill Country to anyone for any type of eye procedure that they need in the future.

I went with my Mother to have her eyes checked after the Optometrist voiced concerns. Upon arrival we were professionally welcomed made to feel at home. (The aquarium is awesome). Anyway, the entire staff made my Mom and I feel at ease. Everything was explained in easy to understand ways. When Dr. Restivo arrived to begin my Mom's exam, he took his time, explained the situation and offered all available options. He didn't appear hurried and made both of us feel at ease in asking questions and arriving at decisions. Even though we were there for my Mom, he took time to answer questions about my vision. If you are looking personal, professional service this is the place you need to be. You will not be disappointed.

I have been going to Hill Country Eye Center for several years, and of course had a really bad problem with my eyes which brought me here. Originally I was refered to Dr. Resivo by a doctor at the emergency. From the beginning the doctor and staff(Jodie especially) made me feel very comfortable. I have been treated for dry eye for several years. Recently Doctor Restivo prescribed a autologous eye serum which I get through Specialy Compound. These people are also some of the nicest people I have ever met in the professional world. This new eye serum has worked better than every thing else I have used. No discomfort,no red eyes. The people I work with have even noticed that my eyes are not red in the morning. I hope that some of the people with the same problem at least give this a try. Oh, did I mentioon that this is natural,no chemicals, no preservatives. Thank You Dr Restivo and starff L.Horstmeyer

I was told I had cataracts in both eyes and that was why I could never get real clear vision with contacts. I had my right eye done one week and my left the next week. It was the easiest procedure you could ever have and now I have 20/20 vision. It was absolutely amazing!! Dr. Restivo and his staff were so professional and friendly ...I would recommend them to anyone. Don't wait...get it done. It will change your life!!! Patsy

A simple visit to my eye doctor three years ago confirmed cataracts in both eyes. one was bad, while the other was very small. Three years later and i have just had the second and final lens replacement surgery. For the first time in my 50 years i can now see very well with no glasses. my eyes were 20/500 and 20/250 or so with a lot of astigmatism. Now my eyes are 20/30 and have shown a decrease in the astigmatism. For the first time in since i was about 6 years old, i can now do everything glasses free and i absolutely love it. The feeling of not worrying about glasses or contacts is awesome. The eyes are not perfect, and i could use a pair of reading glasses for very close in work or reading, but the difference from before is amazing. For those worried about pain and discomfort, there is very little, the only pain being the inserting of the IV before the procedure began. The procedure itself was only about fifteen minutes long, with recovery being a period of weeks. In that time, i was using a few different eye drops that were started before surgery and continued for a month after surgery. My only problem with the procedures was a little discomfort from the generic steroid i was given for the second operation. after a few weeks, it was very hard to even use the generic steroid, so Dr. Restivo had me stop using the generic equivalant of PRED FORTE and everything cleared up in days. Dr. Restivo has given me what i have never had...........a good set of eyes. A wonderful eye care center with a nice staff as well. Thanks Dr. Restivo. P.S. the whole procedure for both eyes cost me less than 3 grand out of pocket, with the insurance covering the rest. About half paid by me, the rest covered by bcbs. gotta love it. thanks again Vince

I don't think I can praise Dr. Restivo and his staff enough! Everyone from the front desk to his assistants to Dr. Restivo himself exceeded what I had expected a medical practice to be. Dr Restivo put me at ease as soon as I met him. He and his staff were friendly and outgoing. He was very patient with me, answered my questions and took time to listen to my concerns. The office itself is very clean and spacious. Although I have never had to wait very long on any of my visits, the chairs in the waiting area were comfortable and in good condition. As for my operation itself, I cannot believe how fast and painless it was! Dr. Restivo implanted the Tecnis lens, which I highly recommend if it is a choice you are given. I was able to see immediately after the operation. My eyesight continues to improve everyday. If you follow the directions of Dr. Restivo and his staff (putting eye drops in, using the eye shield when you sleep, etc.) I am sure you will have as great an experience as I had!

I can now do everything without glasses---watch TV, drive, work on my computer and read! Since I was 6 years old I have worn glasses and/or contacts. I am now 59 and can see everything without grabbing for my glasses. First, I had cataract surgery done on both eyes. Dr. Restivo walked me through every step, so there wasn't any unwanted surprises. He took the time to answer all my questions. After the cataract surgery, which, by the way, is very easy, I had laser surgery to correct my vision to 20/20 in both eyes. The whole experience was amazing---I wish I had done it years ago. I recommend Dr Restivo highly!!

I made 3 visits with one of the Dr. here. I was not impressed with the Doctor or the service. I got to all appt. at least 10 minutes ahead of schedule, so that I was ready for my appt. time. The first appt., I waited 45 minutes past my scheduled appt time. The second one, I waited 1hour and a half and got a half-hearted...."sorry for the wait" On the 3rd visit, I asked the desk if I was going to have another wait...(I was 15 min. early) They said there were 2 people ahead of me. I told them politely that I had waited on 2 previous appt. and that I would not wait an hour for this one. She said that she would inform the "back". I waited my early 15 min. and then waited another 30 minutes, with no appt in sight. Five people were called in ahead of me. I left after telling the receptionist that they could delete my file because I would not be returning. I would not recommend this clinic at all.
