Poor communication, rude, irritable.
Poor communication, rude, irritable. We booked ahead and were told to get our dog up-to-date on vet-recommended shots. We immediately took off to the vet to get up-to-date as our dog was just hitting his 3-year birthday. We were told $25 per day. We planned to drop our dog off Saturday evening and pick up early Monday morning. When we arrived, the lady acted as though I was a few classes far below her and demanded to know why our dog wasn’t up-to-date on shots. I tried smiling and telling her that he was now up-to-date and was wearing the new vet tags. She jumped down my throat telling me that was not good enough. I cringed. I turned to my son and asked him to go get the paperwork we had in the vehicle. Yikes. She didn’t stop to ask if I had the paperwork, but instead felt the need to berate me while grimacing at me. I asked about the charges. Turns out, it wasn’t $25/day, but $27. And, I was going to be charged for a full 3 days, even though he was only going to be there for 39 hours (less than 2 days). I questioned her (politely) on this, she huffed again and told me that’s just the way it was. When I said it would be less than 48 hours, she began to rudely cut me off. She then told me she had to clean the kennels. I wondered what that had to do with me . . . . isn’t that part of doing business? We were in Mpls only for a couple of days and felt trapped. Even though she was incredibly rude and demeaning, we decided we’d still book and pay her ridiculous fees. She then picked up the vet paperwork and determined that our vet had missed an important shot . . . . one that she never told us about even though we booked ahead to get the pertinent information. We drove away, convinced our surprise visit to ValleyFair for our sons was ruined. Thank goodness, we found a very understanding hotel.

Great kennel, doggy daycare. They love pets!
Paws, Claws and Hooves has been providing my dog with quality loving care since 2010. He comes for daycare several days a week. He's excited to go and is always in a good mood when I pick him up. The staff are professional, courteous and give each dog the individual attention they need. They watch relationships between the dogs and let dogs who are friends play outside together and keep dogs who dislike each other apart. This kennel has a gigantic outdoor running area as well as a large indoor play space. Several kennels are indoor/outdoor and let your dog walk between them. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, both in the lobby and in the kennels. Highly recommend!

*Worst Kennel Ever!!!
I called for a quote on a one night stay for my dog and was quoted $35. When my husband dropped the dog off he was charged $70. I called to find out what the problem was and was told that they charge per day, not per night. I then told them that due to the miscommunication I would like to come pick up my pet and was told I would get a refund. The woman at the counter was very rude and didn't like it that I challenged her in the miscommunication. She proceeded to point her finger at me and and tell me how wrong I was and that they would not refund any of my money because they have a no-cancelation policy. At that point I asked her to get my dog. She refused and I continued to ask her to get me my dog. After several times of me asking her to go get my dog I was about to call the police. She finally did get my dog and continuted to insult me as I left. It is really sad because they do have a beautiful facility, but WOW! the customer service is horrible!!!
