I went to Radcliffes with my boyfriend in search of both brisket and beef ribs! We called ahead and found that due to lack of quality bones, the owner had no ribs. He did have some brisket!!!!! We arrived and found the restaurant complete in olde style Irish pub decoration with a full outside patio that is home the mighty duel smokers. There was a nice sized hand crafted bar and full light with big bay windows. The smells floating from the outside patio were heavenly!! When I say divine, I mean it! We each ordered a platter called Kings Plate which came with One mega order of meat and 2 sides. I ordered the brisket with grilled asparagus, and delicious shoestring french fries, while my boyfriend ordered the tri tip with roasted fingerling potatoes and the cheese ladened mac and cheese. All were cooked perfectly! The meat was so juicy. The owner stated he brined all his meat and smoked them at leat 12 hours!!! For an appetizer we had smoked chicken wings, 8 at $0.50 a pop! Delicious!!! I hope they stay open for a very long time. They are fabulous!!!! I truly recommend them...

Radcliffe's Royal Ribs is named after the Radcliffe family clan, originating along the Red Cliffs of the River Irwell in England. Evidence of man has existed there since the stone age, through the bronze age, Roman times, the times of the Saxons, and the Normans. Many of the Radcliffe's were knights of royality, Earls, high-sheriffs, and large property owners. There is still remains of the Radcliffe Tower, (although mostly rubble) originally built in 1160, and rebuilt in 1403. Even today, Radcliffe Road runs through the middle of Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire. This unique concept creates a combination of great BBQ and Olde English grub, like bangers and mash, shepherd's pye, and English fish & chips. Enjoy being served by beer wenches, or peasants wearing renissance style outfits inside a replcia medieval castle. Chow down on the patio where ribs, tri-tip, potatoes, corn on the cob, and other foods are cooked just a few feet away, or enjoy the outdoor fireplace while watching your favorite sports teams, and having a cold one in the shade of the light airy covered pergolia. There's no place like it on the planet... similar to Medieval Times, except for the horses, and you're not herded to a table like cattle. Instead of Last Call, they have Dungeon Call, where they have dinner and drink discounts, and who knows - you might just get a royal flogging if you misbehave!! They believe in the olde saying, "The flogging shall continue until morale improves"!! Still under construction, soon to open late August, or early September.
