Lake Norman Custom Dock & Pile Driving

"A" rated certified BBB company that currently is not required to have a Contractors licence and operate under several different legally registered DBA's. . We try hard to please all our customers but sometimes they try to get something for nothing.. Customer modified contract after work had started and asked for additional work then did not want to pay. Customer filed complaint with BBB regarding return of lift deposit, not anything with workmanship so this complaint seems like sour grapes.. Customer declined FREE arbitration thru the BBB. We are sorry he is unhappy but we did all we could.

"A" rated certified BBB company that currently is not required to have a Contractors licence. We have several divisions which are registered DBA's . We try hard to please all our customers but sometimes they try to get something for nothing.. Customer modified contract after work had started and asked for additional work then did not want to pay. Customer filed complaint with BBB regarding return of lift deposit, not anything with workmanship so this complaint seems like sour grapes.. We never heard any issues until 6 months after we would not refund deposit. Customer declined FREE arbitration thru the BBB. We are sorry he is unhappy but we did all we could.

BEWARE: This is not a licensed general contractor company. North Carolina requires contractors to be licensed if the project cost is over $30,000. There are a lot of reasons to o

They missed the correct angle for the gazebo roof by over 20% so now I have a boat roof with one roof slope and the gazebo with another – looks funny. A $5 measuring tool would have told them they were way off on the angle. They only installed tar paper underlayment on about 60% of the roof decking before putting the metal roof on. They ran out and did not want to wait until someone brought them more tar paper. The framing of the gazebo roof was so bad they had to redo it (at my request). They were cutting the boards at 45 degree angles and not 22 degree- first good wind and it would be moving all over the place. They did not have a way to dispose of the debris from the old pier. They had to borrow my floating dock and use as “trash barge”. They had to borrow my step and extension ladders to get on the roofs. The owner did not do any of the work and in fact was never at the house unless it was to collect money. He returned few of my calls and always said he communicated through his “foreman”. I guess he forgot that I was paying HIM, not his foreman. This company operates under different names. I contracted and signed papers with Lake Norman Custom Dock and Pile Driving but the invoice was from LKN Boatlifts that had a different address, phone and website and no mention of Custom Dock.… the NC Department of the Secretary of State has no record of LKN Boatlifts yet he is conducting business under this separate company. They were very interested in what he was doing.
