Corman Construction, Inc. 12001 Guilford Road Annapolis Junction, MD 20701 William Cox – President William O. Palmer - Vice President Joe Sines - Vice President Bob Kennedy - Secretary Aaron Straebel - Project Engineer Frank Smith – Contracts Manager Kevin Kern My name is Al President of Superior Inspection & Leak Detection, Inc. On April 13, 2012 your employee Aaron Straebel contacted us via email in regards to performing a water leak survey on 5,000 linear feet of pipeline. On April 17, 2012 Corman Construction hired Superior Inspection and Leak Detection, Inc to perform the water leak survey. Your company installed this pipeline at 1708 Pump House Drive in Richmond, Virginia. My Company performed the leak survey in 5 days. We had a signed contract and a revised contract for $14,500 per email on this project. This was approved by Aaron Straebel and Frank Smith. We had contract terms on the proposal that Aaron and Frank agreed to wire our company a $5,000 deposit and pay the balance of $9,250.00 at the completion of service. Now Aaron and Frank are refusing to pay the balance for services rendered to Corman Construction. Here are some of the e-mails (in red) we received before services were rendered to Corman Construction. Jan, As we discussed over the phone, it appears as though we may have a leak on a separate pipeline here in Richmond, Va. This approximately 435LF pipeline is 36” diameter ductile iron pipe, I Approximately 180LF of this pipeline is installed in the bottom of a canal. The pipeline then bends to the North and climbs the canal bank. Once it reaches the top of the canal bank, it maintains a flat grade North alongside an existing retention basin. It may be important to note that although the canal is temporarily “dewatered”, there is still a relatively small amount of water which does flow in the vicinity (South) of the pipeline. Please let me know if this is a situation you may be able to assist us with. If so, please provide a price proposal for this work. Thanks,Aaron Straebel Project Engineer Subject: Richmond, VA Wateriline Installation Patty / Ken, Can you please organize a wire transfer today in the amount of $5,000.00 and let the job team above know they are good to go. Thank you. CORMAN CONSTRUCTION, INC. Frank Smith Contracts Manager Jan / Al, Attached please find the subcontract work order for leak detection survey authorizing you to proceed with the service. Our accounting department has requested that you provide an invoice as backup documentation for the forthcoming wire transfer, which will be initiated upon receipt of your bank account and routing number. Again, thank you for your accommodation to our urgent need for your services. CORMAN CONSTRUCTION, INC. Frank Smith Contracts Manager We are preparing a subcontract work order for your services on the Richmond project. The document will be e-mailed to you later this morning. I understand from the
