slightly creepy
I have only met the man twice, and he gave me an 'uneasy' feeling. My father used his services and the 'Air-Bids' we Outrageous! Things were moved to other areas of the auction and sold under agreed bid starts. You need to visit one of these auctions for yourself. But watch your pockets if your using the services. Watch the contracts.

Less than honest. Takes fake bids.
I have now attended several of this man's auctions. He is very transparent and easily caught at taking "non-bids" or "air bids". He is obviously running up bids by taking "air bids". Items that are obviously worth very little sell for outrageous amounts which implies that he has buyers to artificially jack up prices, build false excitement, etc. I hope that other auction goers take the time to register and review this auctioneer. I am certain that I am not alone. People within the crowd and auction circuit regulars are well aware of this and it is time to take a stand. I don't want Lansing to get involved or legislation, I want my peers to stand up and call this sort of thing out. If you feel that I am wrong please attend one of Tobias' auctions and judge for yourself. I do not make these accusations lightly. I travel a great distance to get to auctions and have always been stunned that he is still allowed to work. Now, I have met many who are questionable with their auction businesses. I have met many who were great! This man is not being honest and it is very obvious. Please! Others need to speak out. He has two choices: Get honest or get out of the business. If you disagree then defend him, I suppose. But, anyone with eyes and ears can see what he is doing. I would give him "0" stars but that is not an option.
