                          Great local bar

My friend and I were looking for a place to watch the Nascar race. After deciding against P.T's and Remedy's we remembered seeing a new bar on Horizon but couldn't remember the name. So we took a chance and drove over there. When we saw Hammer's we were glad to find it again. We went inside and much to our delight the race was on the main t.v. and the volumne was on. There were about five other people there. The bartender Elizabeth was great. She was very friendly and poured a great drink. About an hr or so later it was time for her to go home. The waitress was very friendly and just as good as Elizabeth. So our good experience continued. A few more groups of people showed up and we could tell it was going to turn out to be a good group of people. About a half hour later the t.v. channel was changed to baseball. I got up and spoke to the new bartender and the waitress. I explained we had been there for a couple hours watching the race and asked why the channel was changed. The bartender said well this is the playoff's and they wanted to be able to hear it. The large group of people on one end of the bar was watching the football game, with no sound, and seemed happy. There were a few guys at the other end of the bar that seemed interested in the baseball game. So we were ready to leave, no need to hang around and watch the race with no sound. My friend being in the restaurant/bar industry for over 20 years was very irritated with this type of service. Then he noticed the one guy watching the baseball game was aweful friendly with the bartender. He figured that was the bartender's boyfriend and that's why the channel got changed. We asked the waitress for our check and explained why we were leaving. She offered to have the owner come talk to us. Bob was awesome. At first his response was typical of what we thought but when we explained our concerns and hope to make this our new hang out he decided to change the channel back and see how the other people respond. So the channel was changed and nobody said a word. We did happen to notice the bartender was now sitting next to the guy who was watching the baseball game instead of being behind the bar. Hummm I wonder why the channel was changed. I think the bartender needs to keep her private life out of the bar. The rest of our night was great. We ate, drank and sang kareoke. It was a great time. Thanks to Bob and our awesome waitress. We will defenitely be back. Hope Bob makes a decision to do something about this bartender but if not he assured us if we have any problems in the future he will be there to take care of it.

                              Lots of fun

We strayed off of the usual Vegas fare and found Hammers in Henderson. The food and atmosphere was great but the highlight of the evening was meeting and talking with Bob (the Hammer) Fleming. What a funny and hospitable owner. He told some great hockey stories and made us feel welcome. Our next trip to vegas will definitely include a trip to mHammers to visit Bob and his staff.

                                Great night!!

We stopped in at Hammer's, just passing through. We found it to be a very warm, inviting place. The owner Bob "Hammer" seemed to know everyone who came in and stopped to chat with us, even though we'd never been there before. The food was excellent! Better than what we anticipated - especially the deep fried alfredo. We ended up staying a couple of hours longer than we planned and would recommend this spot to our friends. Cheers!!

                                  service?

My friends and I love to support local businesses and had been wanting to check out Hammer's since their opening. When I finally had a chance to go in there with my boyfriend one night, we sat at the center of the bar as the bartender was helping a group of 5 guys in the far corner. We waited for a greeting from the bartender, or some sort of "I'll be right with you" acknowledgement. To our dismay, she merely glanced at us and continued her conversation with the guys. I noticed, then, the guys were not ordering drinks, but instead were just drunk guys flirting with her. As a fellow female bartender, I understand the flirting, the bantering, and the capitalizing on drunk guests for tips. But as we watched her lift her shirt and jump up and down, we knew that we were not going to get great service or anything close to it. We sat there ignored, still waiting, and we finally decided to leave between 12-15 minutes later. For a local bar, with a total of 7 guests, waiting more than 5 minutes for a simple "hello" is ridiculous. My fellow bartender/server/f&b friends would have been fired for that kind of service, or lack thereof, and we definitely would not go back here.
