Horrible service, deplorable attitude, most overrated bowling supply retailer in the Capital Distric

Having heard the name Bob Daubney associated with bowling supplies all my life, I recently purchased a ball, bag and shoes from him expecting nothing less than a professionally drilled, properly fitted ball. I endured his berating when I asked for a fingertip grip with inserts. I endured him constantly cutting me off to tell me that HE was the professional. I endured his horrible body odor and his skanky, old, urine soaked dog rubbing against me as I waited for my ball to be drilled. I endured far too much ... The only thing I can assure you of, is that he did drill holes in my ball and he did put inserts in them. The grip was not a fingertip grip. The inserts were two sizes too small and the finger holes were drilled a quarter inch too far apart. And those are just the problems my untrained eye could pick up on. I recently went to a pro shop and spoke with the current pro who inspected my ball, laughed and asked me if I got it drilled at Bob Daubney's! I had no idea he was so notoriously bad at drilling bowling balls. In addition to what I already noticed, I was advised that the orientation of the finger holes was wrong, the angle of the thumb and finger holes was also wrong and the inserts were improperly installed. To add insult to injury, the pro advised me that I paid $189 for a ball he routinely sells for $129, I paid $16 for finger inserts the pro would have installed for $5 each and I paid $59 for shoes he sells for $39. He suggested that I return to Daubney's to ask for a refund or a replacement ball which he would properly drill for me. I returned to Daubney's and asked Mr Daubney if he would refund my money or replace the ball. Daubney immediately told me that he would do niether and simply walked away from me repeating that he was definitely not going to do either of those things. He then ignored me as if he were a child who had just been caught doing something wrong, turned off all the lights in the store and closed early. My ball had to be filled, re-surfaced and re-drilled with new properly sized inserts installed ... All at my expense. Moral of the story ... Bob Daubney is the most overrated bowling supply retailer in the Capital District. AVOID BOB DAUBNEY'S AT ALL COST. I could not be any more disappointed with the service I received from Bob Daubney.
