Yikes- stay away from this place. Not nice people. I wasted my time and my money and my child didn't learn anything. Looks to me like the owners wrote all the previous reviews themselves. Money hungry owners care about their pocketbooks- not the students! Trust me!

Good Martial Arts is about trust- It didn't take long for Darrell Sensei and all of his instructors and students to win my trust. I Trust them all with my son and with myself! This is the kind of Martial Arts Dojo I have been looking for since I left my Dojo as a teen. This is more like a club and extended family with Martial Arts, camaraderie, Japanese culture and philosophy all in one. Aikido is perfect for me and my son. I am 61 and he is almost 15... but I wouldn't hesitate in a minute to put a child in this Dojo either. I watch the kids classes and it is not just Kata.. they learn to do real martial arts as well as having fun. I and my son are having the time of our lives. Thank you Budo Shingikan for being there for us... Thank you Darrell Sensei for founding this great Dojo. Come and join the fun and train with us. join our Family!

The Budo Shingikan School of Martial Arts

Budo Shingikan is a great family owned dojo in the east valley. Our son has been attending classes there regularly for nearly a year. They have supported his efforts in developing confidence as well as his understanding of Aikido. He is loving every minute he spends at his dojo and working with Sensei. They are master communicators and offer great opportunities for the dojo family to get together. We love this dojo and the people who serve it.

We found Budo Shingikan a little over a year ago. My son has been training since then and loves it. He has learned and grown so much through his training. His fourth grade teacher has commented on his improvement in class. The owners and instructors really care about their students. They are excellent at teaching and making sure everyone understands the skills and attitude and control behind the skills.

Awful place for children. My child left this place in tears after class. Way overcrowded and totally unorganized. I started getting emails in my inbox almost DAILY from them asking for cash donations ON TOP of over one hundred dollars a month I was paying in tuition. Other Dojos in Mesa charge around the same price, but have better, smaller classes and aren't always begging for extra money. These people don't care about their students - only about their money.
