I had a great experience at Sewell Marine. I have an older model boat and needed a lot of coaching and parts for maintenance which they were happy to assist me with. The staff is very knowledgable and was extremely helpful.
I have a newer model MasterCraft ski boat that I dropped off at Sewell Marine to get winterized. I was expecting my boat to be ready the next day or possible on the third day at least, especially because there was a lot of rain coming in soon. I didn’t even want the oil to be changed. I called several times over the next two weeks and all I was told is that they would call me when it was ready. After two weeks the temperature was now going to get down to 25 degrees, so now I’m getting worried about my boat. I called Sewell Marine again and told them that I was picking up my boat today whether it was winterized or not. They told me it was going to be ready that afternoon.
I picked up my boat that afternoon and the mechanic told me that there was a problem. When they started on my boat they found that it was full of water because the plug had not been taken out. Yes, they let my boat sit there for two weeks full of water. I couldn’t believe that they didn’t even check after all the rain that we had been getting. I always keep my boat stored at the marina so it is always covered and out of the weather. Well I have learned two lessons, never leave the plug in and never trust Sewell Marine again.
