NOT the Venue for a Group Event

I scheduled a dinner at Lespri Prime Steak and Sushi for our key company Executives and their spouses and the entire experience was FAR BELOW EXPECTATIONS. **SERVICE WAS POOR** The staff was either not prepared for a large group or had not been trained on how to handle service to a large group. While our group was only 16 people, we were forced to order from the banquet menu - weeks prior - so there is no excuse for not being prepared. Items were brought to tables out of order, food was delivered without utensils, staff was unfriendly, food was terrible – no quality assurance measures were taken by the serving staff, etc… **FOOD WAS BELOW STANDARD** with the exception of the Sea Bass. I heard nothing but terrific things about the Seas Bass; however, every single steak was burned – not sure how a specialty steak venue could do that to every single steak, but it happened. The other complaint was the sushi: not only was the quality poor, very few pieces were actually served when we had paid for 2-rolls per person. Overall, the sushi was bland and did not live up to the excellence expected from Lespri. Bottom line, no one was impressed and it was difficult to answer as to why the bill was so costly ($245/per guest). It was very embarrassing me as the event planner to have this type of feedback from the group. The catering coordinator was a pleasure to work with; however, the entire restaurant staff failed to deliver on the Lespri reputation. No one in our group wants to return for another event or even as a guest. When I brought our issues to light to the catering coordinator she was very responsive; however, the solution offered by the Managing Partner was to treat me and a guest to another dinner, which was offensive. I'm not interested in a free meal at a restaurant that has already proven they are sub-par. My advice if you need to schedule a group event - AVOID LESPRI. THEY WILL DISAPPOINT.
