My husband and I bought a beautiful house with a very large lot. The house needed a lot of foliage and a few tree's. We wanted to add our personal touch to our landscaping, (to make our own) so we designated Strader's in Reynoldsburg for all of our landscaping needs; tree's, flowers, shrubs and organic lawn care fertilizers. We have always been loyal customer's of Strader's each year for the past 15 years so has our family and our old neighbors. We purchased lime for our grass, (not knowing we were told to buy the wrong thing) so my husband called Strader's and asked if we could make a return without a receipt. The older woman who answered the phone said "I guess so." Once arrived at the store we set aside out previously purchased items to go get the fertilizer that we needed. While spending almost a full hour in the store picking out all the shrubs, tree's and flowers that we planned to purchase for our yard we decided it was time to go. We had a fabulous layout of how our yard would look this summer. At the register we told the cashier that we had called and was told we could return product only if we used credit in the store. Our new total cost was almost tripled what we spent the prior week. The cashier said she couldn't give credit with no receipt, we asked the manager to be called. The manager said over the walkie talkie that they have never taken returns without a receipt. Being unhappy with the service we had to go find the manager ourselves to speak with her, instead of her coming to us; the customer. My husband and I told the manager the whole situation. She stated, "I have been here all morning and she was the only one who answered the phone." Pretty much calling us liars without saying those exact word. Then we told her we just wanted a store credit and she said, "how do I know you didn't use a coupon or discount?" I told her we did not. Again, she said, "how do I know you did not?" Again calling us a liar. My husband stated, "why would I lie? We will just take our business to Anderson's to buy the fertilizer and other future landscaping needs." Her response was, "first of all I don't appreciate being threatened, blah blah blah,!" I didn't care to listen to her anymore after her ridiculous statement. No one was threatened, he just stated we would shop elsewhere. After this horrible experience with the staff at Strader's, not only has our family, friends, neighbors and two friends who own landscaping business decided not to shop there after hearing our experience, so have we.
