Have owned my Kia since it was brand new. It's now considered an older vehicle since it's a '98. Gave this car to my daughter, it had a check engine light on, took it to a few other shops in Ridgecrest and felt like they were trying to take advantage of me. They wanted to keep the car for an extended period of time and that they had to order all kinds of parts which happened to be different at every shop. Heard about Smog Pros through a friend, was very discouraged because of the contradictorily advise I was getting from the shops. I thought giving them a shot was worth trying. Spoke with the owner, Dennis, he said leave it for an hour or two and he's get back with me. Got back with me in a timely manner. Told me what it would take to fix the car, which was again a different list. They fixed the problem in a very timely manner. Very inexpensive. I have even waited four days to make a post to make sure all was truly fixed. I have four cars; If I need any of my car business taken care of, I'm going to take it to Smog Pros for sure. I highly suggest for everyone to go and check it out. These guys are really pros.
Had check engine light on in my truck. Took it to many shops in town. Everyone wanted to charge me an elevated rate. In my opinion, somebody in town recognized me having problems with my truck and recommended me to go to Smog Pros. Their customer service was excellent. Once I signed the paper for them to look at my truck, he diagnosed it while I was waiting, I returned in an hour when he called. My truck was done, he did an excellent job for a bare minimum price. I'm extremely happy with his service and would recommend for people to go to him that has any kind of car or truck problems. He is not only fair, but he truly wants to help. This shop is great and we need more shops like this one.
They advertise doing full repair work, but were very disappointing. Took my car in have have the head gaskets replaced. They said it would take a couple of days. I had to call them every week to find out where they were on the job. Three weeks later they said they were done, but when I came to pick up the car, they made me wait 2 hours before they were finished. It ran poorly when they finally turned it over. The radio was broken and the climate control was broken. I took it back the next week to get the engine running correctly. The car sat for 7 days before they even pulled it into the bays. After another week of no contact from them, I called and they said they couldn't get the engine to run poorly, it was missing all the way home. They said because they didn't work on the radio therefore they couldn't have broken it and refuse to look at it. Poor customer service, lack of knowledge for engine work, poor work ethics. There are enough repair and smog businesses in this town, avoid this one at all costs!
I took my vehicle in on a Tuesday to have a part replaced and to be smogged. They told me that they had to order the part and that they would get it in the next day. No biggie. I called late in the afternoon the next day and they said that they were waiting on the part still and that it would be done on Thursday. (Should have just gone to pick my vehicle up then.) They called Thursday early afternoon and said it was done. I went to pick it up and went straight to the DMV to get the registration renewed. Come to find out they didn't smog it. I went back over there and they had an attitude and said that "they didn't know they were supposed to do it. And there must have been some misunderstanding." Yeah, sure. They knew good and well they were supposed to have it done and even told me when I went to pick it up that it wouldn't have passed smog without them fixing that part.
DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO SMOG PROS!!!
