      Riverside Hospice Thrift Store

Riverside Hospice and Bereavement Center does not provide Hospice Care or Bereavement Care. They refer these services out via telephone Inquiry to other legitimate agencies. They have a companion connection program that serves less than 30 clients and this has yet to be confirmed by the board of directors who recently resigned in mass. The Mission Statement of this organization has been violated. Please ask to see the 990 federal tax returns of the last 3 years. Ask why dollars were allocated to the bereavement in the 2010 submission....and were not allocated to the 2011. submission...Could it be because people are now watching the organization. Ask who signed these documents . Ask if the signatures are in fact legitimate. Ask if the organization holds itself out to be a United Way member when it has not been one for 3 years. Ask to see the profit and loss statements that show that donated monies have been spent to support a Thrift Store that continues to loose money and keeps funds from the intended use. Ask volunteers who have worked there in the past what they have been told. Ask past board members wa hat they think of this organizations managment and direction. ASK questions seek proof that the donation of goods, services, talent and cash that others have contributed actually go to the community. Ask how much of your donated cash goes to support the salaries of the staff. Do not be blinded by expert story tellers. BEWARE many of us have been fooled by an expert.
