We were looking forward to the reopening of this historic building after it's last incarnation, and boy was it worth the wait! The building inside looks terrific, clean and well-appointed, but it is the food that is remarkable. Everything from the combinations of sauces, to sides on very cool book plates. We enjoyed the Diver Scallops which were unbelievabley yummy, with white truffle oil. And the Salmon, perfectly cooked with fennel and kalamata olives. Our friend had the Pork Chop and couldn't stop saying how he finally felt satisfied after trying steakhouses for the perfect chop. The service was friendly formal, young yet surprising, folding the napkin if someone left the table and even escorting me to the restroom. We noticed a nice bar crowd, enjoying the 17 craft beers, looking like "Cheers" - but no Sam Malone. Desserts were equally sumptuous and we were told, done on premises daily - it sure seemed that way - the Bread pudding and Carrot Cake were to die for. All in all, a special atmosphere no matter the more rustic Tavern or more formal white table clothed Rockingham Dining Room- apparently adorned with Chef's family antiques , which add to making this place stand out amoungst a cookie cutter establishment so often seen these days. We will for sure, be back!
