      Watch out for this one

A new dentist gave me this name to get work done on an infected area around where an old root canal was done years ago. He was not sure if it was one or two teeth involved on the same side. I went to this very nice office with a friendly staff and dentist, Farah Abassi. After what seemed to be a thorough check up , she told me that I needed three root canals on the same side. I thought this odd since I had no pain and my prior dentist who had cleaned my teeth every 3 months and took Xrays every 6 had never noticed this. Fortuneatly , my insurance company was not available for the approval ( they wanted to do them all right now) I went home and it took a week or so for the dentist to find out that my insurance did not cover very much. They suggested that I get it done outside of my insurance and quoted me almost $4000 to get all of this done. I was shocked and incredulous. After being stressed out enough to even check out getting the work done in Tijuana, I decided to make a special trip to see my old dentist in Encinitas. He looked at my new X-rays checked me out and said that I only needed a redo of my old root canal and that he was embarrassed for his profession that anyone would suggest three be done at nearly $4000. I went back to my insurance and got another endontists name. I went to him , told him nothing of what had happened. He checked me out thoroughly and said that I just needed a redo of my old root canal. His office estimated that it would cost $350. It ended up costing $760 because my insurance did not pay as much as they thought, but I was happy to pay it since it wasn't $4000 and they did not kill two perfectly good teeth. The dentist's office that did the work was not as elegant as Unique, but it was clean and the dentist was ver capable and totally painless physically as well. I would give Unique minus stars if this was possible
