      Chase E Furnas & Co

Do not give them your money I recently moved out of a house managed by Chase E Furnas. I completed the lease and filled out a 30 day intent to leave notice. On the 30th day we moved out. When we went back to the company a couple weeks later to collect the deposit, they said they will not issue a deposit without the keys, and they were also going to charge us an extra month because they didn't receive keys. The person I spoke to stated that if I returned the keys they would remove the added month's rent and I could collect the deposit. I asked if they could just take the cost of changing the locks out of the deposit and they refused. The next day I returned with the keys. I again asked for the deposit and they asked me to call back in a couple days. When I called back I was directed to the Office Manager, Amber. She spoke to me stating that I was not going to get the deposit back because the decided to charge me for the time it took me to return the keys. Because I turned in the intent to leave, returned the keys as requested, and the added information that this property had no intention on being re-rented and therefore the keys are not a requirement, I believe the company went above and beyond to try not to refund my deposit.
