| | Inside Agora Churrascaria, contemporary design meets the Brazil of yesterday, as sword-wielding Gauchos, garbed in full--and authentic--gaucho regalia circulate the restaurant with skewered meat to cater to guests? every craving. There are no menus at Agora. Instead, restaurant patrons are offered the churrascaria's fixed-price menu, which includes a selection of the 12 finest beef, lamb, pork and chicken cuts, which the Gaucho waiters carve, tableside. All of the meats are prepared and cooked as they have been for centuries: seasoned with rock salt to accent the individual tastes of each cut and slow-roasted over an open flame mesquite charcoal pit. |

| You won't leave hungry from this Brazilian carnivore's paradise.
In Short Offering a different slant on the typical all-you-can-eat meal, this Brazilian-style steakhouse serves patrons "Rodizio" style. Diners pay a fixed price, then knife-wielding--though friendly--waiters in authentic gaucho garb carve slow-roasted meats tableside. A double-sided chip is used to signal to the waiters if you're finished (green for go, red for stop). A vast salad bar is also included. Soaring cathedral ceilings and a large dining room are made more intimate by the rock-lined walls and dark wood accents. | Insider Tips | The Extras A semi-private area off the huge dining room can accommodate groups up to 20.
Know Before You Go Don't take too much from the salad bar--you'll want to save room for the rock salt-seasoned, slow-roasted meats.
Save Money Check out their happy hour that runs nightly from 5pm to 7pm that boasts specials like filet mignon wrapped in bacon for $4 and discounted drinks. | View full Citysearch profile Information provided by Citysearch |
Restaurant Description: Agora Churrascaria is a Brazilian Steak House in the "Rodizio" style, where waiters, dressed as Gauchos (local ranchers from the South), move from table to table carrying skewers of meat, from which they slice portions for their guests. Agora serves 12 different cuts of meat, including beef, pork, lamb and chicken. The restaurant prepares each cut as it has been for centuries: seasoned with rock salt to accent the individual tastes of each cut, and slow-roasted over an open flame. Upon being seated, every guest is given a green and red-sided circular chip to control their fixed price, continuous tableside service. The green side signals the Gaucho to "bring it on," while the red side stops the service. For additional servings, guests simply flip the indicator back to the green side. In addition to the succulent meat selections, Agora offers an outstanding hot and cold salad bar, comprised of Brazilian and seafood specialties as well as a variety of tempting side dishes. Price: $31 to $50 Primary Food Type: Steakhouse Neighborhood Name: Irvine
