| Solid Italian fare in a remodeled farmhouse makes for an impressive Galleria-area experience.
The Scene Tastefully decorated without being overwrought, this remodeled 75-year-old farmhouse is elegant and accommodating. Few establishments can rival this family-run eatery as an overall dining experience. Service is casual but crisp, the relatively economical menu concise and the furnishings as well turned out as anything you'll find in the toniest of places. Given its location in the shadow of the ostentatious Galleria, Crapitto's unassuming grace is refreshing and remarkable.
The Food How can you not order something called Grandma's Lasagna? Turns out, the old gal had a pretty good recipe (and at less than $10, it's a bargain). Carnivores will be happy with a hefty veal chop slathered in Rocquefort. Eggplant enthusiasts must try the Julio appetizer, with delicate slices fried golden without the usual sogginess.
