Performance length: 60 minutes

Kodo is the world's most popular and celebrated Japanese taiko drumming ensemble. The word "Kodo" conveys two meanings: "heartbeat" which is the primal source of all rhythm, and, read in a different way, the word can also mean "children of the drum," a reflection of Kodo's desire to play their drums with the heart of a child. Since Kodo's debut in 1981, the 25-person troupe has mesmerized audiences with its athletic drumming and choreography, stylized gestures, costumes and sheer pageantry -- all while preserving and re-interpreting traditional Japanese arts. Be there when Kodo takes the stage and marches to the beat of its 900-pound drum!
