The Champions for Children’s Hospital Auxiliary of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation will host its first Team Children’s 2012 Sports Fest: Champions at Play event at Robert Morris University Island Sports Center on Saturday, June 16. Throughout the six-hour sports carnival, coaches and athletes from the city’s professional and area collegiate/high school teams will help Children’s Hospital champion the cause of fitness and good nutrition. The activities for children and their families will feature hands-on activities in hockey, football, baseball, basketball, softball, volleyball, track, golf, cheerleading, soccer, lacrosse and other fun sports. The event also will include giveaways, exhibitors providing information and fun activities to learn about healthful eating and exercising, and much more. Tickets to the event are $15 for children, $20 for adults, and $50 for a family pack including two adults and three children. They are available for purchase at www.givetochildrens.org.
