Description

It’s a triathlon that starts with a swim, goes directly into a bike, and then finishes with the run. The 13-15 year old age group will cover twice the distance of the younger age groups. The 250-yard swim 500-yards for 13-15 year olds will be in the river in a shallow area near shore with plenty of boat and swimmer support. The 4.5-mile bike leg 9 miles for 13-15 year olds is all on a bike path, except for a short portion in the boat ramp parking lot which will be heavily barricaded and controlled. About 3 miles of the longer bike course will be on quiet, residential streets that will be well marked and controlled. Helmets are required and any bike in good working condition may be used. The 1-mile run 2-miles for 13-15 year olds will be completely on a foot path. And by the way, check back at this website in July for a list of practice swims on the course. Entry fees ARE $20 per triathlete, which includes a race t-shirt and a one-day insurance license for the USA Triathlon Federation. If participant are already a USAT member, present the membership card the day of the race to receive a $10 refund. The only way to guarantee a t-shirt on race day is to register on-line by the pre-registration deadline of August 8th. On-line registration deadline is August 13th and registration will close earlier if participant limit is reached. There is no race day registration. Registration is limited to 200 participants.
