Thinking about buying your husband the motorcycle of his dreams as a birthday, Christmas or Anniversary present? If you have joint finances, even though it will be his motorcycle, you will be financing it, too. So don't get left in the dust and make a mistake when you're financing his bike. There are a few things to consider before you head over to the dealership.
First of all, look for a good loan before you shop for the motorcycle. He probably already has one in mind, but money matters. Looking at financing before the bike, you'll be more likely to stay within your price range through manageable payments. You probably don't want to get motorcycle financing through the store or dealership because their interest rates are generally higher than a local bank.
When you're financing a bike, don't take out a loan that maxes out your monthly spend. There are other costs associated with a motorcycle aside from just financing one. There will be insurance, protective gear, cool accessories, and extra money for those road trips. Combine the motorcycle insurance with your cars, home, and other insurance policies. Insurance companies give significant discounts for policy holders who combine all of their insurance needs.
