How to Celebrate Valentine's Day With Your Children

List: Posted: 02/10/11

Valentine’s Day is usually all about romance, but there’s no reason you can’t take time to celebrate the holiday with your kids, too. In fact, most schools have at least a little diversion for the kids during Valentine’s Day and most of them think of it as silly fun. If you’re thinking of things to do with the kids on Valentine’s Day, think like a kid.

If you want to go out to dinner but you don’t mind taking the kids on your Valentine’s Day outing, you can pick something you’ll all like. It is Valentine’s Day, of course, so pizza places and amusement park restaurants might be too much of a compromise on your part. Instead, take your kids to a classy restaurant that is child friendly on Valentine’s Day. There are plenty of choices that meet this requirement.

You can also spend Valentine’s Day going to movies or enjoying other activities with your kids. There’s really no limit. If your child has a Valentine’s event going on at school, you can help them prepare for it.

Kids can make a Valentine’s Day excursion a lot more fun for everyone. Look for themed events at venues where the whole family can play, as well, such as at miniature golf courses.

There are plenty of ways to make Valentine’s Day into a family holiday. Just remember to take a bit of time for the grownups, as well.
