Are you looking for some great family activities to entertain the children after school or on weekends? There are thousands of games of every type and level on the market today. For a great night full of fun family activities, start a Family Game Night at your house with some of these fun family activities.
Board games like Monopoly and Life have withstood the test of time for a reason: they are so much fun! You loved them when you were a kid and so will your children. Most of the classic board games are just as much fun as they were when you played them with your family, so dust them off and settle in for fun family activities with your kids.
Not quite ready for board games? Try a card game like Old Maid or Go Fish for your younger children. These family activities are a great way to spend time together, as well as help keep little minds active.
Game nights don’t mean you have to stay inside the house. Make good use of that backyard or nearby sports field, and try a game of touch football. The fresh air and exercise will mean a good night's sleep for them... and some peace and quiet for you.
Just like the classic board games, Charades and Bingo are fun classic family activities that you can share with your kids.
If your family is artistically inclined, grab some glitter and construction paper for an arts and crafts night to add a little shine to your family activities.
If your children love wordplay, set up a family-knowledge treasure hunt! Grab some post-it notes, and write a question on each that only a member of your family would know. For instance, "Where did Jason drop the fruitcake?' Then number them and hide them around the house, so that each one leads on to the next. Put a 'grand prize' at the end that you know your children will love. Give your children the first clue, and watch them work together to follow the trail and find the grand prize!
If your children love sports, slip into some sports shoes and ask them to show you how to play their favorite sport. You may not grasp snakeboarding or rollerblading on the first try, but the gales of laughter as you try can make for some fun memories (be sure to wear padding and a helmet if you are a total beginner!)
Before planning family activities, try to keep in mind what kinds of interests your family has. Anything that everyone finds fun can be turned into great family activities!
C3 Cyber Club offers after-school program in Northern Virginia like summer camp, birthday parties that keeps your child engaged, active, and entertained.
